Transparency in Practices

TÙSAIRE – ‘Pioneer’ in Scottish Gaelic – is a groundbreaking Direct Metal 3D Printed Platinum Jewel Collection by Maeve Gillies, developed in collaboration with Platinum Guild International. The innovative 30-piece collection pays tribute to Maeve’s Celtic heritage, landscape and language - bringing the past and the future together, with the new possibilities of 3D Printed Platinum and precious metal powder technology.

Merging ancient Celtic inspiration with dynamic future vision, Maeve’s designs embrace an exciting new dawn for Platinum. Ultralight hollow, precious Celtic-patterned Torc necklaces and cuffs swirl and coil Platinum and Titanium around each other in bold, modern and versatile silhouettes. The designs feature contrasting layers of unpolished, native 3D-printed Platinum against high-polished surfaces, to showcase and preserve the legacy of this moment in technology.

Evolution, Artistry And Breaking Boundaries

The Tùsaire collection is a groundbreaking range of extraordinary platinum jewellery, named after the Scottish Gaelic word for ‘pioneer’ — those who go where others have not.

Customisation and Personalisation: 3D printing allows us to create bespoke sizing, mix and match of components, and customised colours through anodised titanium.

Reduced Waste: As an additive manufacturing process, 3D printing uses less material than traditional methods, especially when it comes to chemical waste in traditional casting.

Design Complexity and Innovation: This collection pushes the boundaries of intricate, unique shapes that would be impossible otherwise (such as lattice, hollow structures and detailed textures).

Direct Design: 3D printing unlocks a new way of working straight from concept to creation, giving designers more control over the outcome of their designs.
